I got them second hand with no instructions. as for the front, even the standard setup on the SV is soft and fairly good on bumps. The preload on the emulator spring (2-4 turns usually) tends to adjust the low and mid-speed compression damping where as the spring rate on the emulator has more of an effect on the high-speed compression damping.
